While JS Media handles several different types of ad campaigns, we get asked about billboards more than anything else. The exact cost of a billboard can depend on several different factors, which include how many units you purchase, how long you run your campaign for, size of the billboard, whether it’s static or digital, where it’s located, and which billboard vendor owns the property. When you’re working with us, we help you navigate through all those nuances. But for now, here’s some general information for those who are interested in possibly running a billboard campaign.
Cost: JS Media recommends budgeting a minimum of $1,500 to $2,000 per month for a local billboard campaign. There are some billboards that will cost more and there are some that will cost less but if your monthly budget falls within that $1,500-$2,000 range, we can easily find options that will work for you. As a note, you'd only be able to get rates this low if you hire an agency like JS Media to handle your billboard campaign. The rates would be at least 20-30% higher if you go directly to a billboard company.
Impressions: This is the number of times your ad is seen. In our experience, we’ve found that a typical billboard will yield anywhere from 200,000 to 1,500,000 impressions per month.
CPM: This is the cost per thousand impressions. We’ve found in our experience that a typical billboard campaign yields a CPM between $1 and $8. This means you can expect your investment to amount to $1-$8 for every thousand times your ad is seen on a billboard.
